How do I apply?
To begin registration, simply complete the NPPV3 registration information form.
- Your full name including any middle names.
- Your National Insurance Number.
- The email address you would like used for this application.
- Please note- you will first need to be registered with Sign Solutions, and hold a valid registration with NRCPD, RBSLI or other regulatory body for communication professionals working with deaf people.

I already have NPPV2 but not NPPV3
No problem, we can still add you to our database, we do however ask upon expiration of your NPPV2 you apply for NPPV3.
What does the application process involve?
The NPPV3 application process involves a thorough background check into any involvement you may have previously had with the Police, possibly extending to include any family members and close acquaintances you list on your application. Â
How long does it take to complete the application?
Completing the application itself should take approx. 1 hour.
The duration of completing the application process is dependent on the applicant. The registration process is open for a period of 21 days, the sooner the applicant completes the application process the sooner you will become NPPV3 vetted. Please note once the open application process period of 21 days lapses you will lose your registration fee and ability to continue with the application. To reapply you will be required to re-start the application process and repayment is required.
How long does the process take?
Once your application is completed the process takes approx. 57 days.
How much does it cost?
The cost is £450 inclusive of VAT. In the unlikely event your application is rejected your payment will be refunded.
Do I need an enhanced DBS?
If you hold NPPV3/PAIT registration this negates the need for an Enhanced DBS.
How long is NPPV3 valid for?
The NPPV3 remains valid for 7 years from date of issue and includes at least two reviews in that period (at no extra charge).
How do I become PAIT registered?
Once you have completed and your are NPPV3 approved you are automatically added to the PAIT register and can start to carry out Police work.
How will I receive booking requests?
You will receive bookings requests via our Interpreter Intelligence booking portal, mainly via email. Simply respond if interested with your fees.
Is there any training?
Yes, training is included. Once you are undergoing the NPPV3 application process you will be eligible for free face-to-face CPD training.
What will the training cover?
This will cover the correct procedure in a Police assignment, Police officer’s Professional Practice Advice, how an identity parade is conducted, how a statement is taken, custody area protocols etc.
Does this training count towards CPD?:
Yes the training can count towards CPD.
Do you offer any other CPD training?
Yes we do!
Our CPD approved training can be accessed and purchased via our website. We would refer you specifically to the “Interpreting Police Caution” module.
