DA Languages a Manchester-based language services provider has been awarded a new contract with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
DA Languages has been given the contract to provide interpreting and translating services to the DWP. This also includes British Sign Language for Deaf users.
The contract is effective from May 2022 and will see the business support the DWP in ensuring limited and non-English speakers (including Deaf people who use BSL) are able to effectively access services. This is through the use of remote interpreting (telephone and video), face-to-face interpreting and written/ video translation.
Matthew Taylor, DA Languages’ managing director, said: “We understand the difficulties a language barrier can present when trying to access essential services.
“As a business, ensuring that communities, including the deaf community and limited and non-English speakers, can access these services effectively is at the heart of what we do. We’re delighted to be supporting the DWP with our services.”
