Sign Solutions' staff join together to celebrate the year's achievements
On Friday December 6th, the Sign Solutions staff celebrated the company's fourteenth successful year by hosting an extra-special Team Day.
The day began with a comprehensive presentation organized by CEO Sean Nicholson together with company manager Clare Vale, agency manager Charlotte Lostitch and Sylvia Simmonds, Sign Solutions' Head of Training. The slides detailed the company's achievements this year, including the launch of the revolutionary e-learning Deaf Awareness package, and concluded with the company's promising plans for the future.
With the serious stuff out of the way, there was a merry exchange of Secret Santa gifts followed by some animated team-building activities. The group was split into teams of 4 and given the challenge of building a famous landmark using just a roll of tin foil. There were several (rather ham-fisted attempts) at the Eiffel Tower and the leaning tower of Pisa; one group even innovatively removed all foil from the roll and named it the Channel Tunnel. Unsurprisingly, the victors of the contest were the group led by our Head of Training, who conveniently happens to be a trained Architect!
The day time soon ran into the evening, and the team festivities continued at the Abbey Hotel in Redditch. The night time celebrations began with the annual Awards Presentation which saw Nicola Summers winning the prestigious award for Consistently High Standards, together with Emma Thornton's Value Everyone We Touch achievement, Byron Campbell's award for Setting and Delivering Ethical Standards, not to mention Julia Anderson's double-win - an award for Promoting the Profession, and for being Simply the Best!
The spirited day concluded with a three-course meal, a steady flow of beverages and a disco dance-off until the early hours. We already can't wait for next year's!
