Sign Solutions' 2012 so far...
Despite only being at the start of February, it has already been a busy year for Sign Solutions. We have successfully launched our revolutionary Deaf Awareness e-learning package; the first ever to provide Deaf Awareness training online. Thanks to our innovation, now, at the click of a button, it could not be simpler for companies to ensure that all of their staff know how to interact with the estimated 9 million Deaf and Hard of Hearing people in the UK. The course is split into five bite-sized modules, and is designed to be interactive and fun with quizzes after each section to ensure successful learning.
In conjunction with the e-learning package, we have also created a BSL Sign & Spell app for Smartphones. The FREE app provides a step-by-step guide through the finger-spelling alphabet, providing the initial move towards successfully communicating with a BSL user. With a quick quiz after every few letters, you can check your progress as you go. The app is an exceptionally handy tool which allows BSL learners to revise their alphabet anywhere, at the touch of a button.
The CEO of Sign Solutions, Sean Nicholson, appeared on Coventry & Warwickshire Radio on Wednesday 1st February and spoke to Annie Othen about the potential surrounding the new Sign & Spell app. February 1st was moreover Dignity Action Day - a fantastic cause which the company is whole-heartedly supporting, for dignity is important for all members of the community, including Deaf and Hard of Hearing people. This is why the team at Sign Solutions is so proud to promote their simple finger-spelling scheme and aid the community wherever they can.
Both of these innovations – the Deaf Awareness e-learning package and the BSL Sign & Spell app – can help companies and individuals alike to increase their awareness of the Deaf portion of society, and begin learning how to successfully communicate with them. In this way, Sign Solutions are providing the first steps to a hopefully permanent change in the lives and treatment of Deaf people in society.
